5 tips for tidying your closet

5 tips for tidying your closet Over the Christmas holiday break I had this idea of how cool it would be to live the simple life. What do I mean by that exactly? Well, I found myself thinking about those who are living in the NEW TREND of “tiny houses.” I even asked my family; what do you gift someone that lives the simple minimalistic lifestyle? We found ourselves lost for an answer. Maybe a grocery store gift card, or a dinner out for two. What would you do? Which got me thinking. What would I keep? What would I get rid of? How can I tidy up my closet...

My wish for you in 2017

Phew! The busy holiday hustle is over. Now it’s time to take advantage of the quiet and the calm to do some reflection and planning for 2017.   For the last 3 weeks I took a full break from social media to spend some much-needed time with family and old friends in Virginia, playing games, baking and eating too much (it’s a family tradition!). It felt really good. . On the trip back to my life in Indiana I spent a lot of time thinking about what worked and didn’t work in 2016. What did I learn? What do I want to do better? It’s easy for me to get all wrapped-up in...

Mystic Pink Rose Quartz in October

Do you feel like there is one color you have always loved? Currently for me, I can’t seem to get enough of the color mint. But my first love is pink. Which pink you might ask? All the shades of pink! One of my sweetest and dearest friends requested that I create a necklace for her aunt who had recently battled breast cancer. I wasn’t sure what I had on hand but while searching my inventory I came across these sparkly, mystic, pink rose quartz gems. My Four Days at the Inspired Retreat

The Inspired Retreat Last week, I attended Inspired Retreat’s ninth hosted event at the historic Evins Mill. We had morning key note speakers, break off sessions, farm-to-table lunches and dinners, creative play times, and cocktail parties. Several months ago I randomly stumbled upon the Inspired Retreat online. I read everything about this conference and it was speaking my love language. It was serendipity if you ask me. An open gate awaiting my arrival. When I arrived, I saw thirty-two ribbon-tied pink canvas totes dangling from rocking chairs. They were the sweetest swag bags filled to the brim with goodies from some of the speakers that were attending the event. Those...

A Shirt That Speaks Truth

I just love this version of the scripture found in the Common English Bible. But, I have to be honest with you, I didn’t know which version it was when I first fell in love with it. One day I saw a customer standing outside my market tent scrolling through his phone. I approached him and asked if he was looking to find out which version it was. He said he was. I said, “Great idea, because I am not sure either, but I love it.” He then decided to tell me that I made the quote up just for the t-shirt. That is clearly the farthest from the...

Birth Name to Business Name

“Pleasant words are flowing honey, sweet to the taste and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24 CEB Yep, that’s me! Photo cred: Fotio at Fetching Market No. 6 “Is your name really Honey?” I get this question all the time. Yes it is! For most of my life, with the exception of the last 10 years, I went by my middle name Shea. I hated my first name growing up because I was teased so much in grade school. But now, I’m embracing it, and introduce myself as Honey, answer the phone as Honey. My dad is even calling me Honey Shea these days. The name Honey Shea Studios was every part my...

The hustle is REAL

Good Morning Friends!!! You may have noticed I’ve been a little MIA (missing in action) the past two weeks. I’ve been preparing for the Fetching Market, Main Street Market and Madison Road Artisan Market events. Fetching Market starts this Friday in Lansing, IL and goes on to this Saturday with live music from the one and only Kazi Jo who you don’t want to miss because she is my favorite. Now, lets chat for a moment about the food. My talented friend Katie with The Gourmet Goddess has a delicious menu planned for both days. I’m not going to spoil it by sharing all the details but, you don’t want to miss that either. Main Street Market...
